Cherries boss Bradbury: We have to be strong
Cherries boss Lee Bradbury shrugged off his first defeat as manager and accepted his side had been beaten by the better team.[LNB] Bradbury's 10-match unbeaten run since taking the Dean Court reins came to an end in disappointing fashion as goals from Jamie Cureton and Richard Logan saw Exeter City run out 2-0 winners at St James' Park last night.[LNB] But Bradbury was keen to focus on the positives ahead of Cherries' crunch League One promotion clash against south coast rivals Southampton at Dean Court on Saturday.[LNB] Bradbury said: It hurts, but fair play to Exeter because they were the better side. They kept the ball well and we didn't, which is disappointing because we are normally very good at that. But it was nowhere near good enough to compete with them.[LNB] It was a learning curve for me and a result I want to quickly put behind me. Teams always have little blips and I will put this result down to that. We will go again on Saturday and it's all about characters.[LNB] We have to be strong and show self-belief because if someone had told Fletch and I that we would lose one game from 11 I would have snapped off their hand. Sometimes, you have to hold up your hands and admit you were beaten fair and square.[LNB] Striker Michael Symes limped off after 39 minutes, but Bradbury was confident he would be fit to face Saints. Cherries' boss added: Symesy has a sore abductor, but he was struggling before the game. We thought he would be okay, but it got worse as the game went on and we brought him off as a precaution. He should be okay for Saturday.[LNB]
