Cherries: Blackpool ready to bid for Pitman

PREMIER League new boys Blackpool are understood to be preparing a bid for Cherries star Brett Pitman.[LNB] Sources close to the Echo suggest the Seasiders are on the verge of tabling a substantial offer for the sought-after frontman.[LNB] News of Blackpool's interest in Pitman was revealed exclusively by the Daily Echo in January, although the trail went cold.[LNB] However, boss Ian Holloway, who guided the Tangerines to a dramatic Championship play-off final win in May, is understood to have renewed his interest in the Jerseyman.[LNB] Pitman's clinical 16-minute hat-trick against Peterborough on Saturday certainly enhanced his blossoming reputation as one of the country's most promising young strikers.[LNB] When contacted by the Echo earlier this afternoon, Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell confirmed no bids had been received for any of the club's players.[LNB] However, Mitchell did confirm that "enquiries" had been made, although declined to reveal the identities of any possible targets.[LNB] Meanwhile, Mitchell also said Cherries had not signed trialist Lyle Taylor, contrary to reports elsewhere.[LNB] The 20-year-old former Concord Rangers frontman has been training with Eddie Howe's squad since the start of pre-season.[LNB]
