STRIKER Nicholas Bignall has returned to Reading following the end of his loan spell with Cherries.[LNB] The 20-year-old was restricted by nagging injuries to just five appearances during his two-month stay at Dean Court.[LNB] Bignall started the League One clashes against Walsall, Leyton Orient and Hartlepool, and also came on as a substitute against Yeovil and MK Dons.[LNB] Cherries boss Eddie Howe told the Daily Echo: "Nicholas was unfortunate to have a couple of niggling injuries which meant he was unavailable for a few games and the lads have done so well that it was difficult to change it.[LNB] "He came here to play and, unfortunately, in the end, we couldn't give him the game-time that he wanted. But we are very thankful to Reading for all their help and thankful to Nicholas for his efforts during his two months with us."[LNB] Howe said he had no immediate plans to bring in a replacement, although he did admit the striking department was the "one area we are looking at".[LNB] Cherries defender Mitchell Nelson has extended his loan spell with Conference outfit Eastbourne Borough for a third and final month.[LNB] Meanwhile, Rhoys Wiggins, who missed Saturday's 3-0 win over Plymouth Argyle due to an eye infection, should be in contention to return against Colchester on Friday.[LNB] Boss Howe said: "Rhoys got something in his eye and it ended up closing up. He needed to go to Accident & Emergency to try to get it cleaned out. A couple of drops made a big difference but his vision was still a little impaired and we couldn't risk him for the game. We're hoping he will be okay for Friday."[LNB]
