MARVIN Bartley's proposed move to Burnley appears to be in the balance, the Daily Echo understands.[LNB] Bartley was set to join the Clarets following a day of intrigue as the January transfer window drew to a close.[LNB] The 24-year-old had been given permission to discuss personal terms with the Championship outfit after the two clubs had agreed a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £350,000.[LNB] But although Bartley is believed to have signed a contract with the Turf Moor outfit, the official paperwork is understood to have been received by the Football League after the 11pm deadline.[LNB] Echo sources suggest a late hitch at the Burnley end saw the official documentation go through eight minutes late, although Cherries are believed to have submitted their paperwork in time.[LNB] Club officials are this morning awaiting confirmation from the Football League on whether the transfer was rubber stamped.[LNB] Should the deal not get the green light, Bartley would remain a Cherries player and would be available for tonight's League One clash with Swindon at Dean Court.[LNB] However, due to the controversial circumstances surrounding the saga, it would remain to be seen whether Bartley would be involved.[LNB] If it were to fall through, the midfielder's move to Burnley could be resurrected once the emergency loan window opens next Tuesday.[LNB] Bartley would then be entitled to join Burnley on loan, with the move only made permanent once the transfer window had re-opened at the end of the season.[LNB] Check the Echo website for further updates.[LNB]
