Cherries: Arter thankful for brother-in-law Parker's help
Cherries' man of the moment Harry Arter believes he has the ideal role model in Premier League star Scott Parker his famous brother-in-law.[LNB] Arter has been the talk of Dean Court after turning in a series of excellent pre-season displays since completing his summer move from non-league Woking.[LNB] The 20-year-old again caught the eye during the friendly with Derby and was compared by watching ex-Cherries ace John Willo' Williams with a young Juninho.[LNB] Arter, who bagged his first goal for the club in the 3-3 draw with the Rams, admits he has taken inspiration from Parker, the West Ham and England midfielder who is married to his sister Carly.[LNB] Scott has been a massive influence on me, said Arter, who dropped into the non-league ranks following an injury-ravaged spell with Charlton, his and Parker's first club. He has had a few injuries himself and had a fair few setbacks when he was at Chelsea.[LNB] He is a model professional and he is the best professional I have ever met. Where I am today is partly down to him because he has helped me a great deal.[LNB] I was as good as living with him and my sister when I was at Woking because they live in Esher. We are a really close family and he is always telling me to have confidence in myself. He says it's the main thing to get you in the team.[LNB] Arter signed a two-year deal after impressing boss Eddie Howe and his assistant Jason Tindall last season when he helped Woking to the Conference South play-offs.[LNB] When you are in non-league, you always hear about players who have made the step up and think you can do that as well, said Arter.[LNB] You only have to look at Charlie Austin (the former Poole Town striker) to see how well he has done at Swindon. I knew I had to impress at Woking to get myself back to the level I felt I was capable of and now I need to keep impressing.[LNB] Arter will be hoping to continue staking his claim when Cherries host Portsmouth on Wednesday (7.45pm).[LNB]
