Burnley returned to the top of the pile after they managed to get back to winning ways against Barnsley at Turf Moor. Kightly scored the only goal of the game in the 65th minute to secure the win and top-spot. Burnley 1st, Barnsley 24th.
QPR (2nd) missed the chance to claim top spot after they were held at home against Blackburn Rovers (13th).
Leicester City were deposed from top spot as they were seen off by Brighton & Hove Albion at The Amex got back to winning ways after their shock midweek defeat. Barnes (9th min) and Conway (24th min) gave the Seagulls a 2-goal lead, which was halved when King netted for the Foxes. The two-goal cushion was retored when Barnes scored from the penalty spot in the 77th minute. Brighton & Hove Albion 10th, Leicester City 3rd.
The match at the iPro started brightly enough for Blackpool when Osbourne put the seasiders ahead in the 3rd minute, but that's as good as it got as Derby County hit back through a Martin hat-trick (47th pen, 53rd & 69th pen mins), with Bryson (57th min) and Keogh (92nd min) helping to complete the rout. Blackpool's misery was compounded when they saw Bishop and Martinez sent off. Derby County 4th, Blackpool 7th.
Normal service resumed for Sheffield Wednesday as they lost home to Nottingham Forest with Cox scoring the only goal of the game in the 48th minute. Sheffield Wednesday 23rd, Nottingham Forest 5th.
The form book was chucked out of the window at the Madjeski as Reading slipped to their first home defeat of the season as AFC Bournemouth chalked up an unlikely victory - their first since early October. Goals from Grabban (37th min) and Ritchie (41st min) got the Cherries up and running, with the Royals only being able to bag a Le Fondre consolation in the 91st minute. Reading 6th, AFC Bournemouth 16th.
Leeds United and Watford served up a 6-goal thriller at Elland Road. Deeney and Battocchio put the Hornets 2- up with goals in the 12th minute and on the stroke of half time respectively, only to see the home side turn the game on its' head with goals from Pugh (50th min), Smith (56th min) and McCormack (78th min). A home win was looking likely until Deeney popped up to lebel in the 86th minute. Leeds United 8th, Watford 12th.
Fresh from their success midweek, Ipswich Town are edging closer to the play-off places following a 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town at Portman Road, but had to come from behind to do so after Ward gave the Terriers the lead in the 35th minute. McGoldrick and Murphy secured the win for the Tractorboys with goals in the 50th and 85th minutes. Ipswich Town 9th, Huddersfield Town 11th.
Millwall managed to give themselves some day light at the foot of the table with a 2-1 win over managerless Wigan Athletic at The Den where Morison (3rd min) and Easter (83rd min) put the Lions ahead. McArthur pulled one back for the Latics a minute later, but by that time the damage had been done. Millwall 17th, Wigan Athletic 14th.
Bolton Wanderers eased past Doncaster Rovers at The Reebok with a 3-0 win with goals from Mason (33rd min), Moritz (39th min) and Danns (93rd min). Bolton Wanderers 15th, Doncaster Rovers 20th.
Birmingham City and Middlesbrough needed a win to ease themselves away from the drop zone, but failed to do so following a 2-2 draw at St Andrews. Carayol gave Boro the lead mid way through the opening 45 minutes only to see Caddis level from the penalty spot just before the hour mark. Ayala must have throught that he'd bagged the winner for the visitors in the 80th minute, only to see Bartley levelling in the 94th minute to salvage a point. Birmingham City 19th, Middlesbrough 18th.
A relegation 6-pointer was played out at Huish Park as Yeovil Town came up against Charlton Athletic. The points looked as if they were heading back to SE London when Stewart and Jackson gave the Addicks the lead with goals in the 37th and 45th minutes. The points were shared when Morrison put past his own keeper (72nd min), which inspired the home side to press allowing Miller to bag the leveller 4 minutes later. Yeovil Town 22nd, Charlton Athletic 21st.
