Cook set to miss out for Cherries

Bournemouth look set to be without centre-back Steve Cook when they face Yeovil.

The 22-year-old missed Saturday's 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday with a minor hamstring tear and manager Eddie Howe will be planning for the clash with the Glovers without the defender.

So Elliott Ward is set to start his second game in five days having made a speedy return from a calf injury that looked to have ended his 2013.

Elsewhere in the squad, back-up goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan is waiting to discover whether he will need an operation after damaging his thumb in training but fellow shot-stopper Ryan Allsop made a welcome return to the bench at Hillsborough after glandular fever.

Yeovil look set to be without defender Byron Webster.

The centre-back limped off just 35 minutes in to their 1-0 defeat to Blackburn with a hamstring injury and manager Gary Johnson revealed his chances of featuring against the Cherries are slim.

If he fails to be passed fit then Bristol City loanee Liam Fontaine will be handed a chance in the starting line-up in Dorset.

One player who will certainly miss out is right-back Luke Ayling who picked up his fifth yellow card of the campaign and will now serve a one-match ban and Joe Edwards looks likely to move from midfield to replace the former Arsenal man.
