Cherries can't pick Arter

Bournemouth will welcome Reading without midfielder Harry Arter.

The 24-year-old, who has made 34 appearances for the Cherries this season, saw red in the 2-1 win over QPR on Saturday and will serve the first of his three-game suspension against the Royals.

His absence means Eunan O'Kane and Ryan Fraser are competing for Arter's place in the side against a Reading side five points above them in the Championship table.

That is likely to be the only change for Eddie Howe's in-form Cherries who have won seven of their last nine games and are unbeaten in their last four matches against Reading.

Reading will check on Michael Hector and Hope Akpan.

Defender Hector and midfielder Akpan missed Saturday's 1-0 win at Charlton to rest niggling injuries.

Full-back Wayne Bridge was on the bench at The Valley for the first time since undergoing knee surgery in October so he should be involved again.

Mikele Leigertwood played for the club's under-21s last week as he continues to build up his fitness following a long-term ankle problem but fellow midfielder Jem Karacan is still recovering from a cruciate injury.
