Howe to make changes

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe will shuffle his pack for the Capital One Cup derby with Portsmouth.

The Cherries celebrated their return to the second tier with a 2-1 victory over Charlton and a number of the players left out will be given the chance to impress against the Sky Bet League Two outfit.

Captain Tommy Elphick, benched for the opening-day clash, looks set to return to the starting line-up while Ian Harte could be handed a debut following his summer arrival from Reading.

Fellow new addition Andrew Surman, signed on loan from Norwich, will hope for a start along with the likes of Brett Pitman, Ryan Fraser and Eunan O'Kane.

Portsmouth boss Guy Whittingham will be without suspended midfielder Johnny Ertl.

Ertl was shown a straight red card during Pompey's disappointing 4-1 defeat to Oxford on the opening day and will begin a three-match ban.

Defender Bondz N'Gala could make his debut, with Whittingham expected to shuffle his pack.

Phil Smith is likely to feature in goal while fellow fringe players Tom Craddock and Ricky Holmes are also pushing for inclusion.
