Arter out for Cherries

Bournemouth will be without midfielder Harry Arter for the visit of in-form Ipswich.

Arter picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the 3-0 victory over Yeovil on Boxing Day and serves a one-match suspension.

Shaun MacDonald came on for Arter on the hour mark and is in line to replace his fellow central midfielder in the starting line-up.

Cherries centre-back Steve Cook has missed the last two games with a minor hamstring tear and is set to miss out once again, while back-up goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan is struggling with a thumb injury.

Mick McCarthy will hope to keep faith with a winning formula as he takes his in-form Ipswich side to the south coast.

McCarthy named an unchanged XI for the fourth successive match on Boxing Day and duly watched Town run out 3-0 winners at Doncaster to climb into the top six in the Championship table.

With Ipswich in action just 72 hours after their victory at the Keepmoat Stadium, McCarthy will assess any bumps and bruises within his ranks.

On-loan Manchester United midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe makes the final appearance of his current loan spell but an extension until the end of the season appears on the cards.
