Coulibaly set for Cherries chance

Eddie Howe could unleash winger Mohamed Coulibaly on Burton as he looks to set up a fourth-round tie with Liverpool.

The summer signing from Grasshoppers has recovered from the Achilles and calf problems which sidelined him since pre-season and could be given the chance to impress against the League Two Brewers.

Tokelo Rantie, Marc Pugh and Brett Pitman all staked their claims to start with lively substitute appearances in the 3-0 loss to Wigan on Saturday and Howe said the trio had given him food for thought.

Defender Steve Cook returned to the matchday squad having suffered a small hamstring tear and looks set to be involved again.

Burton will check on Michael Symes.

Symes is nursing a knee injury and the striker will be assessed. Should he not be fit he will join defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff, who is out until February after suffering a fractured cheekbone, on the sidelines.

Wolves winger Zeli Ismail is ineligible for the third-round tie having already featured in the competition for his parent club but on-loan Wigan defender Adam Buxton is available to Albion boss Gary Rowett, who is not thought to have any new concerns following Saturday's league win over Cheltenham.

The prize at stake on Tuesday night is a lucrative home tie against Liverpool in the next round at the end of this month.
