Rantie ready for Cherries

Bournemouth's record signing Tokelo Rantie is set for his debut when Barnsley make the long trip to the south coast.

The 23-year-old South African has been granted a UK visa and the ex-Malmo forward trained with his team-mates on Monday morning.

Midfielder Harry Arter missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Blackpool with a thigh injury and if he fails to recover then Eunan O'Kane looks set to keep his place in the side.

Winger Matt Ritchie remains in the treatment room with a thigh problem he has struggled with since pre-season while striker Harry Cornick hopes to be involved in the squad again having been named on the bench against the Tangerines.

Barnsley defender Martin Cranie is expected to make his first start in over a month in the fixture.

Cranie had been sidelined due to a knee injury before replacing Jean-Yves Mvoto at half-time during Saturday's defeat at Nottingham Forest and is likely to step in for the Frenchman.

Midfielder Tomasz Cywka is also pushing for a return to the starting line-up and did his cause no harm when scoring with a 35-yard free-kick at the City Ground after stepping off the substitutes' bench.

Striker Marcus Pedersen missed out at the weekend due to a gashed foot and remains doubtful, so Chris Dagnall and Dale Jennings will again vie for a place up front alongside Craig Davies.
