Bournemouth 3-0 Oldham: Match Report

05 March 2011 17:34
Dalle Valle`s debut delight Finnish striker Lauri Dalla Valle celebrated his debut with a stunning third goal which sealed a comfortable 3-0 win for promotion-chasing Bournemouth against Oldham. Introduced as a substitute midway through the second half, Dalla Valle - signed on loan from Fulham on Friday - let fly with a blistering 20-yard cross-shot into the far corner within 10 minutes of coming on. Bournemouth should have won by a wider margin but, boosted by a clinically-taken 20th-minute header by Danny Hollands, they wasted a string of first-half chances. Goalkeeper Ben Amos pulled off several fine saves, but Marc Pugh, Liam Feeney and Warren Cummings were all guilty of wasting chances. Straight from the second-half restart, Bournemouth doubled their lead - Michael Symes racing on to Pugh's pass to beat the advancing Amos. Oldham played with energy but seldom looked like breaking a goal drought which is now approaching 10 hours.
