A frustrated Eddie Howe was quoted on BBC Radio Solent as saying after the match: "I thought we started the game really well and we were in the ascendency, then we conceded the goal and did well to equalise straight away and get back into the game. After the first 25 minutes, I thought we were excellent and well on course to be getting the victory. But we lost our way towards the end of the first half and I felt we never really recovered from there. I didn’t think we were quite at our best, although we did create some chances at the end, as you would expect. But we weren’t quite ruthless enough to take them. We are in a very difficult league and you only have to look at the people we are playing against, they are top players. Blackpool aren’t top of the league by luck, so they were a hard nut to crack and they defended very well as their record suggests. But we are disappointed and we know that we can do better".
