AFC Bournemouth have gone on record as saying that James Beattie has been training with the Club in a bid to keep fit, having been without a Club since the Summer.
Manager Lee Bradbury is quoted as saying on the Clubs Official Web Site: "I've known James for quite a while and he's been in contact through one of the players, and he lives in Chandlers Ford in Southampton. He's not had any training as such with the football, he's been training in he gym on his own and he's just going to come in to get fit and for us to look at him and for him to look at us. We will see where it goes, there's nothing too concrete in it and he's really come to get some time under his belt".
In the interview he's asked with Beattie is on trial at the Club, which drew this response: "I don't think it's the right word for someone of James Beattie's calibre to come on trial here, he's just coming down here to train and we will see where things go and how they progress. Obviously it would be a massive plus for us if we could sign someone like James Beattie with the experience he's got and the level he's played at. He's living locally with his family so there's always an opportunity if things go well for both parties".
