Cherries captain, Adam Barrett, is stressing that the Club is ready to do battle in the season ahead. New Cherries skipper, and new signing, Adam Barrett, is positive and up beat on the Cherries chances for the new season after a positive pre-season campaign. Speaking in the Bournemouth Evenign Echo, Barrett is quoted as saying: "We can take a lot of positives from beating two Championship clubs. We know there are a few things we can brush up on but Palace and Cardiff are both good teams. It is good to get wins under your belt during pre-season because it breeds confidence. We know the league is going to be a different kettle of fish but winning is a good habit, even in friendlies. We have had a good pre-season and the lads have worked extremely hard. We can’t wait for the league games to start because there will be added pressure. We all want to achieve things and will give it everything in an attempt to do that. It is going to be tough because League One is going to be tough. But I left a Championship club to come here and I came to be successful. I know players have gone but there are a lot of talented players still here and it is a hungry group. The supporters are behind us and we know they want us to be successful. We know there are going to be sticky patches during the season and that’s when we will really need them. As long as they see us giving it everything and putting in the effort and commitment then I am sure they will be right behind us. We are all in it together. We need them as much as they need us and they can make a huge difference. I am sure we want to make this place a fortress and they can help us do that".
