New signing Adam Barrett is looking forward to the new season, using last seasons near miss in the play-offs as the inspiration for the new campaign. With the new season less than a week away, new signing Adam Barrett is looking forward to the opening game against Charlton Athletic on August 6th. The defender is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "The main thing is to make sure we get our preparations right for the kick off against Charlton. Pre-season so far has been really promising. I felt the sharpness was a lot better against Cardiff than it had been against the German team. But you can’t read too much into results because it’s going to be nothing compared with the start of the season. The lads have worked extremely hard and we have had a few new players, like myself, coming in so it takes a bit of time to bed in. Everybody who was here last season deserves a lot of credit for what happened. We know expectations are going to be high but that is something you should look to thrive on. The club has put itself in a position where we are probably a bit of a scalp in this league. It will be up to us to rise to the challenge because it can bring out the best in people. I don’t look at it as a pressure, I look at it as a good thing and something to aspire to".
