Another Burnley Connection

Is Eddie Mitchell seeing consirpacy theories, citing Burnley as the reason for Des Taylor's departure? Cherries Chairman, Eddie Mitchell has hit back at accusations that the Club lacks ambition, as stated by Des Taylor, by coming out in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "The truth of the matter is that he has been offered employment elsewhere, either on a permanent or freelance basis, and I think he has used the club’s facilities to get that employment. “He probably used our mobile phone to engage himself, he probably used our car to go to meetings and he probably used the £2,000-plus money he got to go to under-21 tournament for the benefit of another club. To say our club is not ambitious as an excuse is rubbish. I think we are the most ambitious club in the division. We know for a fact, because Des told us, that he has been talking to Burnley. He will deny it but I know it is the truth". Mitchell has not accepted the resignation and it would appear that Taylor's wages have been withheld. Burnley have stead fastly denied making any illegal approach for Taylor, being quoted as saying: "In a statement on the AFC Bournemouth official website, Mr Mitchell accuses Burnley Football Club of being ‘underhand and unprofessional’ and of making an illegal approach for chief scout Mr Des Taylor. This statement is factually incorrect in all regards to Burnley Football Club, which has not approached, nor offered Mr Taylor any position at Turf Moor. Nor, as alleged by Mr Mitchell, did Burnley Football Club utilise the services of Mr Taylor at the U21 European Championships".
