Carlisle boss Greg Abbott was delighted after securing the signing of Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter on a one-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old joined the Cherries from Woking in the summer but has made only 15 appearances.
Arter will be in the squad to face Brighton on Saturday but will not be able to play when the Cumbrians face Bournemouth later this month.
Abbott told the club's official website: "Harry is very versatile and he is desperate for first-team football.
"He can play on the left of midfield or through the middle, and he likes to get forward.
"We're very pleased that we have been able to bring him in as he will give us more options and competition in some key areas of the pitch."
