A Record Never To Be Broken

Steve Fletcher's appearance record at Dean Court is highly unlikely ever to be broken.

Former colleagues have gone on record as saying that Steve Fletchers 728 appearance record for AFC Bournemouth will never be broken.

One former colleague, Alan Connell, is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I would be very surprised because 728 is a massive number and I can’t see it ever being beaten. I know that Fletch had the chance to move on a long time ago and he decided not to. He loves the club and the area, which is why he is happily settled down there. He is Bournemouth through and through. As a striker gambling on his flick-ons, you knew that nine times out of 10 he would win them. He was a joy to play alongside and I am sure all the other strikers he played with would say the same".

Marcus Browning, was quoted as saying: "I don’t think the appearance record will be beaten. That loyalty is a thing of the past. Fletch has the old-school values. Maybe he wasn’t blessed with the very best ability but he always gave his all and was a great man to have in the team. I have played against many a player but Fletch has got to be among the best in the air, in both penalty boxes".
