Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman has snapped up Witton Albion winger Shaun Whalley on loan as he aims to stop his side's slide down the League Two table.
The former Chester City player could move to Accrington on a permanent basis in January if he impresses during his time with Coleman's side.
The 19-year-old made five substitute appearances for Chester before being released at the end of the 2004-05 season and played for Runcorn before signing for Witton in March 2006.
Stanley have lost their last three games and have slumped to 15th in the League Two table.
