Stanley release Knowles

The 29-year-old former Morecambe star played a key role in Stanley's UniBond League title success last season but has failed to make a Nationwide Conference appearance for the side during the current campaign.

He has spent part of this season on loan with Burscough.

Knowles moved to Accrington in October 2002 after spending the rest of his career with Morecambe.
