Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman is hoping to sign at least two new defenders to try and boost his side's battle to avoid an immediate return to the Conference.
A 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Notts County left the Reds outside the bottom two on goal difference alone, with Coleman's side having conceded 50 goals in 27 league games.
He said after the latest reverse: "I feel like crying again. We have been let down by our defence again and that's happening all too often lately.
"The next 48 hours could determine our season, because I have to get on the phone now. We need two, maybe three more defenders.
"The ones we have at the moment are blatantly not good enough."
