Accrington Stanley central defender Jonathan Smith has warned that the club will make changes if the team do not perform in the Nationwide Conference.
The Reds have won one and lost two on their introduction to the Conference, but Smith is aware that the club want to make sure of survival in the top flight of non-league football.
He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "There's a lot at stake and a lot of pressure because there are big expectations for us.
"The management and board are concerned about staying in this league and the standards all round are higher.
"Players are quicker, teams are fitter. It's definitely a massive step up and no-one can bank on getting a place in the starting line-up every week."
