Mangan eyes starting role

Accrington Stanley striker Andy Mangan is hoping his first Football League goal will help him to secure a spot in John Coleman's starting line-up. Mangan came off the bench to score an injury-time winner in the 2-1 success against Wycombe Wanderers last weekend, but believes he would make more of an impact if he were given a chance to start some games. "If I can come on and help the team that's fine," the 20-year-old told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "I'd like to play more but all I can do is keep working hard and keep scoring in the reserves and when I come on. "Hopefully my season starts here but we'll see what happens." All ten of Mangan's appearances this term have come as a substitute.
