Loan blow for Stanley

Accrington Stanley have been hit by the news Liverpool midfielder David Mannix's loan spell has ended prematurely due to a knee injury.

The 21-year-old, who joined from the Reds ahead of last Thursday's loan deadline, has suffered ligament damage following his debut in the 2-0 defeat against Grimsby at the weekend and has returned to Anfield for treatment.

Mannix will not regain full fitness before the end of the agreed one-month deal, so his time at the Fraser Eagle Stadium has failed to last a week.
