Gornell teams up with Reds
20 Sep 2008 - 14:44:24
Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has moved quickly to replace David Worrall who has returned to West Brom, by snapping up Tranmere Rovers striker Terry Gornell on a one-month loan deal.
Worrall has had to go back to The Hawthorns to have treatment on a groin injury after making five appearances for the Reds.
Gornell signed his first professional contract with Rovers this summer and made his debut for the club when he came on as a substitute in last month's Carling Cup defeat at Grimsby Town.
Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore thinks a spell at Accrington will do the teenager good, telling the club's official website: "Terry's a talented youngster and, at this stage of his career, he'll benefit more from playing first-team football on loan than he will from playing in our reserves.
"He'll benefit from a month at Accrington Stanley and hopefully will come back and push for a place in the team here."
