Doughty heads to Stanley

Accrington Stanley have signed defender Phil Doughty on a one-month loan deal from their Championship neighbours Blackpool.

Doughty has just completed a month's stay at Macclesfield Town, where he was offered a permanent contract by the Silkmen.

However, the 21-year-old has opted for a move to the Fraser Eagle Stadium instead, to team up with John Coleman's squad.

The Kirkham-born defender, who has also played for Chester City and Rochdale, will go straight into Stanley's squad for Saturday's home clash with Brentford.

In other news, Stanley forward Lee McEvilly, has completed his loan move to Cambridge United, where he will stay until the end of the current campaign.
