Goalkeeper Craig Dootson has decided against joining up with Accrington Stanley for the coming Nationwide Conference season.
The 24-year-old will remain with Stalybridge Celtic, after work commitments meant that he would not be able to meet the training schedule at the Crown Ground.
Dootson's decision leaves Stanley boss John Coleman looking for another custodian to bolster his squad, with Jamie Speare the senior keeper on the staff.
The Conference newcomers are also rumoured to be interested in former Blackburn Rovers wing-back Darren Hockenhull, who spent a loan spell with Rochdale last season.
