Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman is already plotting major changes to his squad this summer, following another season of struggles in League Two.
The Reds are currently 15th in the table, having shipped 70 goals in 38 league games this season.
Coleman told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "Until we sort out our defence, which is a massive problem for us, we are never going to go anywhere in this league.
"We are going to have to limp through to the end of the season and hopefully we will stay up and then we will have to re-assess what we need in the summer.
"One thing for sure is that we need new defenders because it's a recipe for disaster when you have got to score five goals to win a game."
