Manager John Coleman was left to survey the wreckage of yet another defeat after seeing Accrington Stanley lose 2-0 at home to Barnet.
The Reds have now lost six of their last seven games and have drifted towards the wrong end of the League Two table, although they are safe from the threat of relegation.
Coleman commented: "Barnet were the better team and we weren't good enough.
"If it was an isolated game we wouldn't be too concerned, but there have been lots of games at home like that this season.
"We have got a bad record defensively, but we usually counter that with scoring goals, but we have not been doing that this season."
