Armstrong says no to full-time switch

Accrington Stanley veteran Gordon Armstrong has revealed that he will not be going full-time with the Reds next season.

The Lancashire outfit are preparing to make the step up to full-time status, but the 37-year-old says that he will not be making the switch.

He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "I spoke to John Coleman a few weeks ago and told him I probably don't want to go full-time next season.

"I might stick at it part-time, but I don't think I could do full-time training. My body's had enough, so in that respect I've made the decision for John.

"But I might lend a hand with the coaching. I've been doing a bit already here and there, with the defence more than anything.

"I've just been trying to pass on a few things I've learnt over the years to the younger lads, so we'll see what happens with that in the summer."
