Stanley have defied the odds to maintain a stable league position this season, despite the club being on the brink of closure due to an unpaid tax bill. However, the adversity has allowed youngsters such as Turner and Bobby Grant, both 19, to come through, and the former is thoroughly enjoying himself. "It's been going excellent for me," he said. "I have managed to score my first senior goal and I can't complain. "We've obviously had lots of trouble with money but the players have got on with the job and we have managed to put it behind us when we cross the white line. "We have had a cracking home record and I think we have managed to get the fans on side which has helped, and we'd like it to continue."
