Stanley set out repayment plan

Stanley had received notice of commencement of winding up proceedings on May 29 in respect of unpaid tax and national insurance contributions. But following a meeting in London on Friday afternoon attended by chairman Eric Whalley and chief executive Robert Heys it was agreed the football club would submit plans to repay the amount owed and they should be sufficient to postpone the High Court hearing. Heys said: "We spoke at length with Her Majesty's officials, they gave us ideas of what they wanted and we gave our ideas of how we could repay what we owe. "We will now go away over the weekend and set out concrete proposals which we will offer to them early next week. "We are very confident and optimistic HM Revenue and Customs will accept our offer and force an adjournment of the High Court hearing scheduled for next Wednesday."
