Stanley seek seven-day extension

The League Two club had hoped to pay the money owed to HM Revenue and Customs, with Wednesday the deadline to avoid closure. But they will attend Wednesday's scheduled High Court hearing and make a request to grant them a seven-day extension in order to raise the full amount. A club statement read: "The club had hoped to be able to draw a line under the situation today, however, due to delays on a couple of sources of funding we will require a further week or so to do this. "After taking advice from our legal team we are more than confident that this will not be a problem and look forward to announcing the settlement of the debt in full in the next few days."
