The Mariners failed with both a six-figure bid and an offer involving another player for the 26-year-old, who has been in good form this season and has scored 13 goals for Stanley,[LNB]"We've had two bids turned down for Michael Symes," Town chairman John Fenty told the Grimsby Telegraph. "The first involved a player and the second was a six-figure bid without a player.[LNB]"Those have both been refused but we'll keep working on things. We're doing our best to back the manager and bolster the squad."[LNB]Boss Neil Woods, who has also quashed rumours linking his side with Simon Richman, Janos Kovacs and Nick Chadwick, added: "There has been interest on our part with regards Michael. But he is contracted to Accrington Stanley and I don't want to talk about another club's player."[LNB]Meanwhile, Woods has confirmed he will not be pursuing his interest in Tam McManus, but Ross Campbell has joined the club on trial.[LNB][LNB]
