Stanley improvements get thumbs up

Stanley have increased their covered seating capacity to over 2,000 while maintaining an overall capacity of over 5,000. The ground has been inspected by Lancashire County Council and the details of the new capacities passed across to the Football League, who require the above figures to be met by May 1 in a club's third season in the competition. General manager David O'Neill told the club's official website: "A lot of hard work has gone on over the last few months, with much of it in the planning stages making sure that the ground operates correctly on a matchday with the changes that we've put in place. "More recently our director Bill Holden has put in a tremendous effort to get the physical job done, saving the club thousands of pounds, and we must also give a big thank-you to the army of volunteers that have helped to make sure that the deadline was met. "Now this box has been ticked we can get back to concentrating on the running of the club, preparing for 2009/10 and another season in the Football League."
