The 22-year-old turned down a new deal with Northampton last month and is training with Stanley at their camp in Essex. "He's come down to Colchester with us this week. We've made him an offer and he is due to give us an answer on Friday," assistant manager Jimmy Bell told the Lancashire Telegraph. The League Two club could also be on the verge of receiving some new investment after the Supporters' Fund group opened talks with chairman Dave O'Neill over purchasing a minority shareholding. "We want to work with the club to help them move forward," said Peter Shaw, who is fronting the fund. "I met with Dave O'Neill two weeks ago and again on Monday. We've made a proposal and we're just waiting for a response now." Stanley have been looking to restructure their finances ever since they were issued with a winding-up order in May. They have since staved off that threat and O'Neill is searching for financial support.
