Second winding up order for Stanley

16 January 2010 19:26
Stanley, who settled a previous petition in November for £308,000, had already confirmed that there was a significantly smaller sum outside of that which still remained outstanding.[LNB]Chief executive Rob Heys has now confirmed the sum, believed to be in the region of £70,000, will be paid in full within the next fortnight.[LNB]He said: "The club was always aware that after the previous petition debt was settled there was a significantly smaller sum outside of this that still remained outstanding. The club has made payments towards this while continuing to meet our ongoing obligations to the revenue. Throughout this time we have enjoyed a great relationship with HMRC which will continue.[LNB]"A petition was served against the outstanding amount before Christmas, and the plan was to pay the amount in full next week before it was made public in the London Gazette. However, the advert has appeared early and so we obviously have to respond accordingly.[LNB]"However, with the backing of our chairman Ilyas Khan we can assure supporters that the debt will be paid in full bringing the club up to date with its obligations to HMRC within the next two weeks, and I can assure supporters that we will not be facing another court appearance."[LNB][LNB]
