Accrington have signed Oldham defender Joe Jacobson on loan until January ahead of their FA Cup second-round trip to Port Vale. The former Wales Under-21s captain, 24, had a spell on loan with Stanley during the 2006-07 campaign and goes straight into the squad. "Joe's a good player who we have had before," said Accrington manager John Coleman. "He can play in a couple of positions he's certainly comfortable on the ball and he has a good left foot." Stanley are boosted by the return of midfielder Chris Turner after suspension, but defender Peter Murphy is completing the last game of his three-match ban. Midfield duo Jimmy Ryan and Sean McConville are injury doubts with hamstring and back problems respectively.
