Accrington chief executive Rob Heys does not expect the club to be punished if they miss their December 31 deadline to expand the Crown Ground. Stanley have not yet adapted their stadium to meet the Football League's minimum capacity requirement of 5,000. The club were promoted to npower League Two in 2006 but can still only cater for 4,000 fans. "We are slightly behind because of the weather," Heys told the Lancashire Telegraph. "We know there may be more to come in the next few days. "We are adding five or six rows at the back of the Coppice Terrace and it is being constructed externally at the moment. "It may go slightly into January, but the Football League have said they are happy with how it is progressing so that takes the pressure off us."
