Double deal done

Accrington have completed the signings of Sean Hessey and Charlie Bennett after their transfer embargo was lifted. Defender Hessey, 31, and midfielder Barnett, 21, have signed one-year deals with the npower League Two club, who submitted their 2008/09 accounts to ensure their embargo was lifted. Hessey has vast experience at League Two level after spells at Macclesfield and Chester and caught the eye of Stanley boss John Coleman in a lengthy trial period. Barnett was a part of the successful Liverpool youth cup side that also featured the likes of Jimmy Ryan and Ray Putterill and joins after leaving League One outfit Tranmere.
