Accrington manager John Coleman was delighted after watching his side dump League One Tranmere out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a 5-3 shoot-out victory. Enoch Showunmi missed the vital penalty for Rovers after the tie had finished 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, with Showunmi cancelling Ray Putterill's early strike. "We were poor in the first half and they dominated the game but we were much better after the break," Coleman said. "Just when I thought we had sorted them out we gave away a poor goal but it all worked out well for us in the end. "Overall our defence did very well. There was no shortage of volunteers to take the penalties and they were five excellent strikes. There will be no shortage of confidence if we come to penalties again. "You just want to try and win every game. It took us a little bit of time to get going after several changes but the lads who came in did well. The result gives us a lot of heart."
