Coleman salutes 'smashing' Stanley

Michael Symes and James Ryan both struck on the counter-attack before Lee Hughes replied with a penalty late on for the hosts.

Coleman said: "It was a smashing performance and our lads worked really hard. Notts County are a good footballing side. They have not been beaten here for a reason, but when we counter-attacked in the second half we were full of energy and drive.

"Sometimes you have to ride your luck a little and in the last 20 minutes they put a lot of balls into our box, but we coped.

"I can't fault our players because their work-rate was fantastic, their enthusiasm, team spirit, camaraderie and will to win was great."
