Coleman reflects on `freak result`

Accrington boss John Coleman had mixed emotions after watching his side clinch a memorable 7-4 victory over Gillingham. Phil Edwards grabbed a brace from the penalty spot and Sean McConville, Andy Parkinson, Charlie Barnett, Terry Gornell and Jimmy Ryan all found the net for Stanley in an 11-goal thriller at the Crown Ground. "It was a freak result," he said. "There were some great goals but some horrific defending. I just sat back in the second half and, to be honest, it was deflating at times. "It's normal service resumed for us as we have never had four goalless draws, which we have this season, and now we have conceded 10 in a week. That's really frustrating. "A lot of the goals were down to individual errors and we will have to get it right. The game got so disjointed and so open but the crowd can't complain that it wasn't exciting. "To be fair to our players they showed great character as, as soon as they scored, we scored quickly afterwards and were able to relieve the pressure. I have never been involved in a game like that in my whole time here and I don`t want too many of them."
