Accrington boss John Coleman has praised injury-hit defender Leam Richardson's performance in last weekend's 1-1 draw at Hereford. Richardson has been thwarted by a persistent pelvic injury, seriously cutting short his participation in the previous two seasons. In fact the former Blackburn Rovers trainee has struggled so much with his pelvis he was reverted to a pay-as-you-play deal at the Crown Ground, but now he is hoping that the injury nightmare is now behind him Saturday's draw was Richardson's first start of this campaign and Coleman told the Lancashire Telegraph that he was happy with his the defender's performance. He said: "He played really well, he tired a bit towards the end but Leam's a good footballer. "He's a smashing lad and, after all the horrific injuries he's suffered, for him to still be on a football pitch competing at this level is a great testament to his character as well."
