Clock ticking on Stanley survival

Stanley are on the brink of financial meltdown and need to raise £308,000 to pay off an outstanding tax bill or face winding up proceedings come October 28. Vice president Peter Marsden stood down as a director in the wake of the club's 1-0 defeat to Chesterfield at the weekend while millionaire Ilyas Khan, a 17% shareholder in the club, has withdrawn his financial offer of help. Stanley have raised £90,000 through the "Save Our Stanley" campaign but time is running out for them to raise the full amount. Heys told the Manchester Evening News: "It's now a vital 24 hours in the club's history. "A lot has happened over the weekend and we now need to take stock, speak to all parties today and try and resolve the issues."
