Arthur backs Stanley safety
Arthur was one of Stanley's key players last season as the club finished in 16th place to ensure a fourth consecutive season in the Football League.
The Scot, who kept 13 clean sheets in the league, is set to join Rochdale on July 1 after feeling unable to remain at Accrington because of the financial uncertainty that has engulfed the club in recent weeks.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I have got no doubt that with John in charge he can keep the team together and the club will continue to do well."
