Beattie to monitor Wilson

Accrington boss James Beattie will continue to monitor defender Laurence Wilson ahead of the clash with Torquay.

The former Morecambe man has missed Stanley's last two matches through injury but could recover in time to play some part against the Gulls.

Otherwise, Beattie is unlikely to make wholesale changes to the side that recorded a 2-0 victory over Scunthorpe last weekend.

Strike duo George Bowerman and Kayode Odejayi were both on target in the win over the Iron and are expected to be included once again.

Torquay are hopeful that defender Anthony O'Connor will be available for the trip.

The Blackburn loanee returned early from international duty with the Republic of Ireland's Under-21s because of a knee injury sustained during their 5-2 win over the Faroe Islands last Friday but manager Alan Knill is optimistic he will be passed fit.

But there will be no return for the Gulls' two other injured players, with winger Billy Bodin (cartilage) and midfielder Ben Harding (foot) set for longer spells on the sidelines.

Struggling Torquay face two crucial games in a short space of time with Devon rivals Plymouth the visitors just three days after they face Stanley.
