Webber back to face former club

Accrington will welcome back striker Danny Webber when his former employers Portsmouth head to the Crown Ground.

Webber was absent for a memorable night in Stanley's history when they defeated Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Riverside on Tuesday to book their place in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

On Thursday the club discovered their reward for that victory would be a tie against Premier League side Cardiff and there was more good news with boss James Beattie confirming Webber would return on Saturday from his knock.

Beattie made two changes after a 4-1 defeat to Newport last Saturday and midfielder Piero Mingoia is likely to retain his place following his winner against Boro.

Portsmouth boss Guy Whittingham could name an unchanged side.

Despite making a number of changes for their midweek Capital One Cup tie at Bournemouth, Whittingham was impressed with his side's performance as they were edged out 1-0 by their Championship counterparts.

John Sullivan is likely to return in goal but defender Bondz N'Gala could retain his place after a successful debut against the Cherries.

Tom Craddock and Ricky Holmes are also hoping to keep their places in attack but midfielder Johnny Ertl is still suspended.
